Dr. Morgentaler opened his Fredericton, NB clinic in June 1994 and on the 28th, he performed the first five abortions there. On the same day, the Minister of Health “made a complaint to the Council of the College of Physicians and Surgeons and asked the Council to temporarily restrict Dr. Morgentaler’s license by prohibiting him from involvement in the performance or attempted performance of acts intended to procure the miscarriage of a female person outside a hospital approved by the Minister.” [see June 27, 1985]
