During a campaign stop in Fredericton, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Liberal) participated in a debate on abortion access. Trudeau stated that if re-elected, he would “ensure” that the provincial government of New Brunswick, under Premier Blaine Higgs (Conservative), funded private abortion clinics. Trudeau further explained that his government would be prepared to use all tools at their disposal, including those legislated under the Canada Health Act.
