In the Canada Health Annual Report for 2019-2020, New Brunswick was officially found to be non-compliant with the Canada Health Act for its failure to fund abortions provided outside public hospitals. The province’s Canada Health Transfer payment was reduced by $140,216 in March 2020, the amount residents of the province paid for abortion services in 2017.
