In an editorial meeting with Acadie Nouvelle, then-Premier Brian Gallant (Liberal) disclosed plans to extend abortion provision services across New Brunswick. Without providing much substantive detail, Gallant maintained that abortion is healthcare like any other procedure, and access should be available as such.
